The Golden Rule: Thinnest to Thickest
If you only remember one rule, make it this one: apply your products based on consistency, starting with the lightest, water-based fluids, moving to heavier products, like creams and oils.
Think of your skin as a sponge. If you pour water on a dry sponge, it absorbs instantly. If you cover that sponge in thick oil first and then try to pour water on it, the water will just roll off.
The same logic applies to your face. Heavier, occlusive products create a seal. If you apply them too early, they block lightweight ingredients from penetrating the skin barrier, wasting their potential.

Hi Dr. K
I’ve been using Trifecta since December 2025. I’m noticing a slight improvement (also using Tretinion 0.01 at night with double cleanse). My biggest face issue is large pores and hyperpigementation. I’m hoping that with continued use, I’ll start to see better results. However, I find that I run out of the serum faster than the other products. Since I workout every day, I usually wash my face 3 times a day. Is there anything else i should be doing to maximize the serum so it last until next shipment? Thank you in advance.

Hi Farida—Thanks for your comment! For large pores and hyperpigmentation, remember results are gradual; Trifecta and consistent daily SPF are key, and improvements in texture and pigment typically build over 3-6 months. Since you wash three times daily due to workouts and use tretinoin, you don’t need to reapply the full routine each time. Use Trifecta in the morning and evening, and stick to a gentle cleanse plus light moisturizer + SPF midday. Feel free to reach out to our Customer Care team if you’d like more personalized information. 💛

I’m 87 years young and have cared for my skin for all my adult life. Since moving to using Trifecta I’ve pretty much left all other products behind. I also use Hanacure once a week and overall I’ve noticed improvement in texture and glow. There are days I use no makeup other than the tinted sunblock. I live in Costa Rica so sun plays a big part in dictating my routine. Feel free to comment 😊

Hi Carol—Thanks for your comment! It’s wonderful to hear how intentional you’ve been with your skin over the years and that simplifying your routine has worked so beautifully for you. Living in Costa Rica certainly makes sun protection a daily priority, and it sounds like you’ve found a rhythm that supports healthy, radiant skin while keeping things manageable. Seeing confidence shine through, especially on makeup-free days, is always the best compliment to any routine. Thank you so much for sharing your journey here!

Been using your products since last October. I’m 62. I like them but would appreciate a stronger treatment .. a step up in retinol perhaps ? Are there any plans to add to the range?

Hi Jane—Thanks for your comment! Illuminate is intentionally formulated for long-term daily use with a balance of strength and tolerability. For those wanting a stronger option, prescription tretinoin under medical supervision is typically the next step. Remember that individual responses to Retinol can vary, and it’s essential to listen to your skin and consult with your dermatologist for personalized advice.
