GLP-1 medications are an incredible tool for weight loss, but they often come with unintended side effects. Facial fat loss, skin laxity, and muscle depletion contribute to a more aged appearance, but these effects are not irreversible.
No matter how weight loss occurs, understanding how to support the skin and underlying structure is key to maintaining a youthful look.
For those experiencing sagging or volume loss, a combination of in-office treatments skin rejuvenation treatments with medical-grade skincare would be a non-surgical approach, but for true correction, a surgical procedure like Vertical Restore® or a facial fat transfer can help address deeper structural changes that are happening to the face shape.
The best approach is proactive care. A targeted, daily skincare routine and healthy lifestyle habits offers the most effective path to restoring facial youthfulness and long-term skin health.
A Skincare Strategy for Everyone
Whether you’re currently using GLP-1s, thinking about starting, or simply noticing signs of aging from time, sun, or stress—a consistent, science-backed skincare routine is your first and most important defense.
You don’t need a separate skincare system for weight loss. What you need is a strategy that works for all causes of aging: one that stimulates collagen, reinforces the skin barrier, hydrates deeply, and protects daily against environmental damage.
That’s exactly what the KaramMD Trifecta was built to do. It eliminates the guesswork by giving your skin everything it needs in three simple, clinically formulated steps. The result? Skin that’s stronger, brighter, and more resilient over time.
Here’s the thing: GLP-1 medications don’t directly age your skin—they just reveal what’s already happening beneath the surface.
And while treatments like fat transfer or Vertical Restore may be necessary for structural correction, your daily skincare habits are what preserve those results—and your skin’s health—for years to come.
Don’t wait for your skin to catch up with time or weight loss. Be proactive. The right ingredients, used consistently, will help restore, protect, and maintain your skin at every stage of life.
Because skincare isn’t just about reversing damage.
It’s about building a foundation of confidence and vitality that lasts.

Hi Dr Karam
I would like to hear more about your method of fat transfer. I had it done after a facelift about ten years ago. I’ve never looked better! Unfortunately it only lasted a year. I recently had another facelift and would love to get fat transfer again but my doctor no longer provides it because he says he now feels it’s unpredictable and doesn’t last long enough and prefers using fillers.
I follow your work closely and see that you do fat transfer often and say it is long lasting. Do you have a method that you use that allows it to be dependable and long lasting that other doctors don’t know how to do? If so I would love to have you do it! Please let me know!

Thanks for your assistance. My face seriously looks old and I have lost substantial amount of weight. This may be due to hep C which they said I am having and the drug prescribed for me.
Best regards.

This was very interesting to me as I recently lost a stone in weight in about 6 weeks due to suffering illness (walking pneumonia.) I have really noticed the weight loss in my face. I look so much older and more drawn since being ill😢

Hi Melissa—Thanks for your comment! We’re so sorry to hear you’ve been through such a tough time. Rapid weight loss, especially due to illness, can definitely impact facial volume and skin appearance, and it’s completely understandable to feel a bit disheartened by those changes. The good news is, with time, nourishment, and the right skincare (and sometimes targeted treatments), much of that vitality can be restored. Be gentle with yourself as you recover—your body’s been through a lot, and healing is a process. We’re here if you ever want personalized tips or support along the way. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery. 💛

Hi ,
I read your article. I recently went through gastric bypass and feel I look much older. My skin is sagging and I see wrinkles like never before. Possible you can recommend some multivitamins for collagen, elasticity and firmness. Would appreciate that .
Thanks

Hi Saima—Thanks for your comment! First, congratulations on your journey to better health! It’s completely normal to notice changes in your skin after gastric bypass since rapid weight loss can impact collagen, elasticity, and overall skin structure. To support your skin’s resilience from the inside out, we recommend looking for a high-quality multivitamin that includes. Collagen-supporting nutrients like Vitamin C, Zinc, Copper, Elasticity boosters like Silica and Biotin and Firmness & hydration support like Omega-3s and Hyaluronic Acid. In addition to supplements, our KaramMD Trifecta is designed to restore collagen, improve elasticity, and deeply hydrate your skin, working alongside a well-balanced diet and supplementation. If you’re experiencing significant skin laxity, you may also benefit from in-office treatments like RF microneedling, lasers, or surgical options to complement your skincare routine.
