My Gold Star Patient: Neda Karam
Most of you know by now that I performed a Vertical Restore facelift on my wife, Neda.
If you haven’t been following along, check out my Instagram and watch her progress, I think you’ll enjoy it.
It’s been really incredible to go through this journey with her, and there have been some key points I’ve noticed during the behind-the-scenes of her recovery that I think are worth sharing.
First, Neda’s commitment to a daily skincare routine began 15-20 years ago, well before she was considering surgery. She has been taking care of her skin for years with active ingredients and diligent sun protection.
She started using Trifecta when it came out, which not only cleared up her melasma but enhanced her complexion and gave her skin a youthful, healthy glow.
She has also consistently made lifestyle choices that have absolutely contributed to the ease of her recovery and beautiful results. She knows good nutrition supports overall skin health, combating the signs of aging from within, so she eats foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals which help maintain skin elasticity and radiance. She is also active and exercises regularly, which plays a major role in looking and feeling younger.

I been using trifecta I have seen some changes. My skin feels good when I use polish and i put the polish. My skin feels very clean and moisturized. My skin is very very dry . I’m still not able to get enough hydration in my skin. . I’m looking older, my puffy eyes are terrible, I look a lot older than my age. People are always telling me if I slept good. I will really appreciate it you could give me your opinion of what I can do for my skin to look hydrating and no puffiness eyes. Thank you. My name is Jaqueline Ortega.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us, and we’re so glad to hear the Trifecta and Polish have been giving your skin that clean, moisturized feeling! We completely understand how frustrating ongoing dryness and puffiness can be, especially when it affects how you’re feeling day to day.
For the extra hydration you’re looking for, we’d recommend adding Enrich into your routine as the final step after your Trifecta. Enrich is an ultra-hydrating balm formulated with anti-aging actives that protects and repairs your natural skin barrier without clogging pores, making it especially helpful for stubborn, very dry skin. It helps lock in moisture and support a more luminous, hydrated complexion over time.
As for the puffiness around your eyes, that can often be related to factors like hydration, circulation, sleep, or sodium intake, so alongside a consistent skincare routine, staying well hydrated throughout the day and getting good rest can help as well. If the puffiness continues to be a concern, it may also be worth chatting with your dermatologist, who can take a closer look and offer guidance tailored specifically to you.
We hope this helps, Jacqueline!

I recently did an upper and lower blepharoplasty, on July 28, 2026. However, I’m interested in doing the Vertical Restore with you. Is it possible that I can do a revision on my upper and lower blepharoplasty, because the doctor didn’t add fat grafting, which was a mistake of mine to do the procedure with him because he doesn’t believe in fat grafting. I’m not satisfied with the work he did. I’m 70 years old.

Hello,
May I ask which brand Neda uses for her sun-protective clothing? For the face and neck? And I noticed she was wearing a helmet for her hair, if I may have the name of that brand as well. Thank you so much.

Hi Katherine—Thanks for your comment! Neda loves Coolibar products for sun-protective clothing, especially for face and neck coverage. She chooses pieces that offer strong UV protection while still being comfortable and easy to wear throughout the day.

I am 79 an am in need of a deep plane facelift. Concerned about my age. I am reasonably healthy. What do you think? Have you done procedure on women my age?

KaramMD Skin replied:
Hi Kay—Thanks for your comment! There isn’t a specific age when it’s “too late” for a facelift, as it really depends on your overall health, skin condition, and personal goals. Many people in their 60s, 70s, and beyond have successful facelifts and enjoy great results. It’s important to have a consultation with a qualified surgeon who can assess your individual needs and health to determine the best approach.
