The answer is: absolutely not.
It is definitely not too late to start using Retinol, whatever your age. I get into this in more detail in my Instagram video, but essentially, Retinol is one of the most vital ingredients when it comes to getting the beautiful, healthy skin you want.
What is Retinol?
Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A. This ingredient is commonly used in skin care products because of its anti-aging effects. If the dosage of retinol is too high, it can cause a reaction in the skin when you first use it, such as redness or dryness and peeling. This can put people off of using Retinol, but the key is consistency–keep using it. As your skin adapts, you will notice outstanding results. Products that include micro amounts of Retinol can also be used that produce a minimal reaction in its initial phase and achieve excellent results.
What Does Retinol Do For Your Skin?
Retinol has both short and long-term benefits for the skin. It improves the skin more and more over time. Retinol achieves the following benefits for your skin:
- Stimulates collagen
- Boosts the rate of cell turnover
- Exfoliates the surface of the skin
- Brightens and smooths the skin
- Helps unclog pores
- Helps clear away acne
- Reduce hyperpigmentation
- Strengthen the skin barrier
- Achieve better skin hydration
It’s Never Too Late to Start Using Retinol as an Addition to Your Skincare Routine
At any point in life, Retinol is a positive ingredient for your skin, ultimately achieving outstanding results. You will start to see short-term improvements, and these will expand into long-term benefits over time. In general, the combined effects of Retinol improve youthful facial volume and reduce wrinkles and fine lines, giving your skin a more radiant, fresh look and a plumper appearance.
This is why I included a moderated dose of Retinol in the Trifecta, my skincare line. With the Trifecta, you are applying a small dose of Retinol to your skin twice daily, just enough to get the effects you want for your skin, but not enough to result in significant side effects.
Retinol is a key ingredient in the Illuminate product, which can be used twice a day as a part of the three-step Trifecta skincare routine or as a stand-alone product, morning and night.
The KaramMD Trifecta
The Trifecta is a simple, three-step skincare line that includes a range of vital ingredients necessary for achieving beautiful skin, including retinol. Used together with the exfoliator Polish, the Trifecta provides everything your skin needs to be as beautiful, healthy, and youthful as you want it to be.
I created the Trifecta and Polish because I wanted to give my patients a way to achieve radiant, fresh skin without dealing with a complicated skincare routine. I looked for the right products for years and discovered that not only was the selection of products overwhelming, but many didn’t have what is needed for beautiful skin. And worse, the required steps and complexity of many of the great skincare products that were out there made it almost impossible to follow the skincare routine consistently on an everyday basis, which must be done to get results.
How does the Trifecta + Polish work?
The Trifecta and Polish are groundbreaking skincare products that are each clinically proven to achieve youthful, supple and radiant skin. The Trifecta should be applied twice every day. Apply 1-2 pumps of each product to the skin of your face, neck, and around your eyes in the morning and night.
Rinse Daily Cleanser
This refreshing cleanser hydrates and softens the skin, removing toxins and makeup residue. Rinse triggers cell regeneration and helps to prevent UVA damage. This product prepares your skin for deep absorption of the active ingredients of the other KaramMD skincare products.
Quench Vitamin C Serum
Quench is a brightening Vitamin C serum that helps renew and rejuvenate the skin, preventing collagen breakdown and reducing hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and other signs of age.
Illuminate Anti-Aging Cream
This all-in-one anti-aging cream includes Retinol and a range of many other vital ingredients for beautiful, ageless skin. The ingredients of Illuminate stimulate skin elasticity, boost collagen production and cell turnover, hydrate and freshen the skin, and achieves radiant, luminous effects. Illuminate works together with Rinse and Quench to achieve beautiful, youthful skin.
Polish Enzymatic Exfoliator
This gentle but highly effective exfoliator removes dead skin cells and toxins and other buildup to improve skin hydration, smooth skin texture, regulate natural oil production, and plump the skin for a clear, radiant, vibrant appearance.
Including Retinol In Your Skincare Routine
The question of whether it's too late to start using Retinol is answered with a firm, "no." Regardless of age, incorporating Retinol into your skincare routine can yield numerous benefits, from stimulating collagen production to reducing hyperpigmentation and fine lines. The key lies in consistency and finding the right dosage that works for your skin.
The Trifecta skincare line, with its inclusion of microdoses of Retinol, offers a convenient solution for those seeking to simplify their skincare regimen while still reaping the benefits of this powerful ingredient. Remember, achieving radiant, healthy skin is a journey, and it's never too late to start.

Hi..I’ve just recently started using the Trifecta. Let me just say it’s amazing, luxurious and a treat to use. Amazingly gentle for my reactive/sensitive rosacea skin too, I am really pleasantly shocked at how well it’s gone in the first week with hardly any sensitivity.
My question is…does it have “enough” retinol and how and what brand (because of counter contradictions) retinol serum should a person use if they wanted to bump up their dosage of retinol? Is a prescription strength needed to see results?
It sounds like maybe Dr Karam might need to formulate a few retinol stand alone products in different strengths that will integrate perfectly with Trifecta so we can add extra retinol as desired ;-)
Thanks so much 💕
